About
THE BLACK FILM SUMMIT
The Black Film Summit (TBFS) enters its 3rd year as an up-and-coming film festival celebrating the films and talents of emerging filmmakers that are of African descent. We are committed to fostering greater dialog and community within our festival by giving the filmmakers in attendance the opportunity to introduce their films and participate in a Q&A afterwards. TBFS at its core is about the films and the artists whose hard work and dedication brought them to life. The Black Film Summit is a celebration of Pan African achievement in the cinematic arts.
Mission
The Black Film Summit is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for filmmakers across the Pan African diaspora to gather, be heard, and have their work showcased. We strive to give the African American community and its allies a safe space where they can enjoy, converse, and celebrate independent films featuring people of color.
Vision
The Black Film Summit envisions being the Midwest epicenter for Pan African achievement in the cinematic arts, featuring the industries leading films and showcasing the next generation of great filmmakers. TBFS aspires to attract a global audience of film lovers and those within the industry.
